Collection of Modern Korean Poetry Modern Korean poetry of a past generation is offered in Radiance of Jades, Celadonia Press, 2006 Some have attained legendary status, others only recently allowed to be published again, having gone to the North, either voluntarily or involuntarily, during the Korean War. Poems of each poet are grouped using the title of one of his well known poetry collection. The poets are: Kim So Wol, "Azalea" Yi Yug Sa, "Grapes" Jung Ji Yong, "Window Pane" Kim Ki Rim, "Weather Chart" Kim Kwang Kyun "Gas Light" Pak Mog Wol "green Deer I" Pak Du Jin "Green Deer II" Cho Ji Hoon "Green Deer III" Enjoy. Contemporary Poetry Collection in Progress Modern Korean poetry will be offered here. Classic poetry is found in the Classic Literature page The first collection of contemporary Korean poems is in progress. It is titled "Arboretum" The poets will be represented by generous excerpts from one of their recently published poetry collection. They are: Ahn Do Hyun, "Post Office by the Sea" Kim Hye Sun, "My Upanishad, Seoul" Pak No Hae, "Labor's Dawn" Kim Seung Hi, "How Do We Exit?" Na Hi Dug, "Palm That Vanished" Kim Ki Taig, "Cow" Hwang Ji U, "Birds Abscond Too" Nothing really binds these poets together, save for the fact that they are about the same age, and all seem to be popular, liberally represented in cyberspace. That is, free copies of their poems are readily available from the internet. I take it to mean that they have popular followings. And most important of all, they are a pleasure to read and enjoy. |
